"Nuff It!"
Another weekend spent in the house plagued with illness. Poor Kadence caught the bug Thursday night. She missed school Friday and had a rough weekend. I was plagued with the bug Saturday evening on top of my cold. I seemed to have a milder version than the girls but was in bed most of Sunday.
Landon has been begging to move his room downstairs since he slept down there when Grandma June visited. I wanted to get his old and new room painted and get a few new pieces of furniture before we did the switch, but decided to just move him down there and do the painting and redecorating later. He was so excited to have his new room! I am shocked he wanted to move downstairs already! It makes me a little sad to have him downstairs and us upstairs, but it is nice to split the girls up! Kenzie moved into Landon's room and Kadence has her room all to herself and loves it! I can't wait to get the rooms finished!
While I was sick on Sunday, Kenzie joined me to tell on Daddy. She had an accident in her undies and Daddy was not too happy with her. I could not stop laughing at her. She was telling me her story for a good 5 minutes. Apparently, Daddy had shook his hands at her and told her, "that's enough!"

Kadence's Valentine's Day Party!
Miss Kadence had a Valentine's Day Party at school and I was able to attend! Ryan was on call and didn't have to go in until 11 so he stayed home with Kenzie while I had a special morning with Kadence. She was SO excited and had so much fun! We decorated cookies, made Valentine bags, and watched the kids do a few activities.
Kendallynn and Kadence. It was also pajama day!
I am so proud of this little munchkin! She has just flourished at preschool the last couple of months-both socially and academically. Love love love her!Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Dance/Wrestling.
Kadence has switched to a different dance class and seems to like it. I was able to watch her last class which is always fun. Her teacher is so good and has so much patience.
Just a taste of what she is learning.
Landon has signed up for wrestling and gone to a couple practices. Ryan has taken him both times and he sent me this cute video of the boys warming up.
Ryan is not sure wrestling is going to be his thing, but he can finish out this year anyway.
It baffles me how hardcore parents are with pushing their kids in activities. Yikes. I just want the kids to be involved, have fun, and for us to still be able to have a family life!

Snow Days...Sick Days.
There really is nothing worse than having a sick child. There was not much we could seem to do to help the poor munchkin and she was obviously in pain and uncomfortable. She gave us "experienced" parents a run for our money with this bug. The poor thing.
Ryan took the two older kids outside to play in the winter wonderland. They had a blast with all the snow and Kenzie and I had a blast watching them from the warm house!
Kenzie perked up for about half the time that the kids were outside playing with Dad. For the first time all day!
I just love rosy red cheeks!
The kids were loving the recliner we brought upstairs to rock Kenzie. I think it will be a fight when it is time to go back downstairs. All three of them spent a lot of time in the chair!
Monday the kids had a snow day and the kids and I stayed home all day except a quick trip to the clinic with Kenzie. Our street did not get plowed until 7 pm so Ryan had to walk a block and have someone pick him up for work. He had tried to go and got stuck twice with his pickup. I had watched 4 pickups (all bigger than Ryan's) get stuck on our street throughout the day. Although there was only 10.5 inches of snow there were plenty of much taller snow drifts out here where the wind blows so bad!
There is truly nothing worse than having a sick child. I can't wait for everyone to be healthy and a sense of normalcy. Bring on Spring!

Valentine Family Project.
Landon can't wait to bring his project to school for his Valentine's Day party on Thursday. He has played with it a lot already, I hope it holds up until then!

100th Day of School!
Landon had his 100th day of school today! They had a big celebration for the day. I thought this was such a fun idea! He had a project he had to do and brought "100" M&M's for their 100 days of school special trail mix. Mrs. Spanier sent the picture of the whole class with their 100th day hats on. I thought it was pretty neat and Landon said, "Mama, we had a really fun day at school today!"
This lucky lady had sledding day today at Kindergarten Readiness! Ryan was a late shift today so he was able to go with her from 9-10 and then he headed in to work. I gave her the choice and she wanted Ryan to take her. It only stung a little and I was glad I didn't have to freeze my butt off! They had a good time together!
I took this little munchkin to gymnastics this morning and she had a blast like usual! Thought I would include this picture of her washing her hands like a big girl! She is totally potty trained and I am so proud of her! We are done spending hours in the bathroom with her! Yippee!!
What a great Monday!

Gamma June.
Grandma June came all the way to Fargo with Aunty Peggy and Lee and stayed with us for 2 sleeps. It was the first time Grandma had seen our home and we were beyond excited to have her here with us. I felt spoiled to be able to spend so much one on one time with my sweet grandmother. She is honestly the sharpest 86 year old lady in the world. I think she probably has a better memory than I do. I have so many childhood memories with Grandma and am reminded of her very regularly. Grandma June was always very laid back, had time for her grandchildren no matter what, shared her love for cakes and baking with us, and was always so good at listening. To this day Grandma is one of the most open-minded forgiving people I know. She is always concerned about others and would give everything she has to help someone she loves. What a neat lady. I just love and adore her so much. She is truly a good person with a great sense of humor and great attitude for life.
These two girls just could not get enough of Grandma June. They kept her busy in the 2 days she was here and had a great time "playing" with her walker and cane. They were so concerned about her and played with her a lot!
Little miss Kenzie especially had a love for Grandma June. She says her name in the most adorable way and I grabbed this video of her and Grandma. I honestly can't stop watching it!
I had the best weekend ever spending time with my Grandma. It is so easy to get caught up in life and forget what truly is important. Having Grandma around was so enlightening and reminded me of the important things in life and what kind of a person I want to be. I will treasure this weekend forever and am so glad my kids got to spend some good quality time with my grandma. This morning Landon says to me (in his sweet little boy voice) "Mama, your grandma, she's good! She's really good!" My grandma-she's not just good, she's the best.

Potty!
Potty Potty Potty! It is that time again and I think it is safe to say we have a potty trained little lady! I apologize the pictures are all from my iPhone and let's face it, she never sits still for long so they're blurry! I decided I was ready to train Kenzie shortly after Christmas and tried really hard for a few days and Kenzie was having none of that. Oddly, about 2 weeks later she decided all on her own (and I think to be like big sister) that she was ready. From the time she decided she has had very few pee accidents and is doing awesome. She struggled with her pooping for awhile for about a week and a half which was different for me, but she's good now. She's such a big girl!
Doing the celebratory potty dance...on the potty.

We did spend a good week and a half with minimal clothing on. The last photo is when she did her first big #2 on the potty. She got a really big treat and ate the entire thing! Way to go Big Girl!

Vikings Pictures and Spelling Tests.
Landon has been doing really well in Kindergarten this year and we are so proud of him. Landon really likes his teacher and school in general, although when he is tired he does tell me he "works" too much at school. I still don't like sharing him with the world as much as I have to and I definitely treasure the weekend and the extra days he gets off here and there. One of my favorite times of the day is when Landon comes home from school and proudly shows me his papers. He was most excited about this picture he had colored during some free time at school. He couldn't wait for Daddy to get home from school so he could show it to him. Apparently the "Vikigs" beat the "Bars" 20-4. Ryan was pretty happy but did say, "I am not sure how the "bars" would get 4 points though." Really Ryan...he's 6! Just go with it.
Landon has also started doing weekly spelling tests. They get their list on Monday and then have the week to practice with their test on Friday. I thought spelling tests sounded a little advanced for Kindergarteners-wrong again. Landon has been enjoying them and doing very well!
