First Football Game.

 Landon had his first flag football game on Saturday!  Ryan was on call and of course was unable to make it.  Thankfully, my mom and dad were here to watch!  It is pretty fun to watch these little guys and I just can't believe how much they seem to understand about the game.  They all get to play and the coaches do a great job of making sure everyone is getting in there and having a chance to have the ball.

The teams all have a mix of Kindergarteners and 1st Graders and it is pretty easy to tell the older kids apart from the littler ones.  They all seem to play real well together, regardless.

 The boy directly to the right of Landon is his friend and our neighbor Axel.  Landon thinks it's pretty cool to have his buddy on the team.  How funny is the boy yawning? HAHA!

 Very fun to watch.  The kids did pretty well for an hour considering their attention span.  I was glad my parents were able to watch and look forward to his next game when Ry can watch.  Have I mentioned the coaches are the most patient men, ever.  They have to tell do a lot of directing and redirecting every single play!

Just like Daddy.

I had to share this silly story about my little boy.  As he was getting ready for school, I picked out his clothes for the day.  Ryan was on call so he was home in the morning.  Landon put his pants on and grabbed the shirt I had picked out for him.  He picked it up to start putting it on and says, "I CAN NOT wear this!"  Ryan asked why and this is how he answered, "because it is just too pretty!"  I don't think I could have seen a bigger smile on Ryan's face.  Ryan looked at me and said proudly, "that's my boy!"

Oh boy.  Well when I explained to him he looked handsome and pointed out the fact that their were skulls on the buttons, he agreed he could wear it.

Dance.

 Kadence started dance for the year again!

 She was very excited to start and is enrolled in a 45 minute class every Thursday evening.  She is in the 3-4 year old ballet and tap class again.  She was very excited for class to start!

I hope she enjoys dance class as much as she did last year!

Kindergarten Readiness.

This little girl started Kindergarten Readiness at the YMCA today.  She was in preschool last year but is in the class directed more towards meeting pre-Kindergarten requirements this year.  We struggled at the end of last year with Kadence not wanting to go to school and bawling when I left her every day.  Knowing this, we have done a lot to try and prepare for this day and the separation anxiety that was expected.  Aunty Arin bought Kadence some adorable school clothes which was a great start.  She loves to wear pretty things and was so excited to pick out her first day of school outfit.  Just Kadence and I had done some school shopping last week and found a few things one of which was a purple feather necklace which she is obsessed with.  I had also bought her a new pink owl back pack.  So, let's just say this girly girl loves to shop and was excited about all of her new things.  Her teacher Miss Stephanie had given her a baggie full of "magical confetti" to sprinkle under her pillow last night to help her sleep and calm her nerves.  Kadence was so excited to do this.  She thought it was the neatest thing in the world and had been looking forward to it for a week!  So, last night she put it under her pillow (a little under mine also-I was nervous too and she was glad to share) and it worked like magic.  If you can believe I was totally unaffected by the fact that there was confetti all over the house this morning.  I didn't clean it up before school and was just praying that this magic confetti would do its job.  Kadence was excited all morning and up until we arrived at the Y we had no tears.  No Tears.  This was far better than I had expected and prepared for.

Kadence found her locker and this was when I started getting real smiles for my pictures.  I loved it because it shows how truly excited she really was.

 We were the first people to school and I was hoping that wasn't a bad thing.  She seemed totally fine.  She wasn't clinging or crying.  I was shocked.  And beyond happy.

Kendallynn showed up shortly after we had been there and Kadence could hardly contain herself.  She was jumping all around and more excited than before.

So now it was time.  The dreaded time to say goodbye.  I walked over to her and she gave me a big hug and kiss and said goodbye.  She then ran over to daddy and gave him a big hug, too.  I don't think she had stopped smiling the entire time.  No tears! No tears! No tears!

We walked out of the door and I looked at Ryan and asked if that really just happened.  Did she just do that?  I had been preparing for this dramatic departure for weeks and truly, I didn't know what to do with myself.  I got tears in my eyes.  Tears of joy.  I was so happy that she didn't have to be sad.  That she could go to school and have fun.  I love her so much and she is going to have such a great year!!

My baby.  Wondering where everyone has gone!!  Unfortunately, this little munchkin is suffering the brunt of Kindergarten germs.  Big brother brought a cold home last week and she's suffering through it now.  The poor stinker.  Although, she is loving all the attention without big brother and sister.  Love this little one to pieces and am cherishing my time with her for the next time I blink she will be the one off to school....

Labor Day Weekend.

We had a very quiet Labor Day weekend at home.  With the first full week of Kindergarten under our belt, it was nice to have a weekend to relax. We did some things around the house, relaxed, watched some movies, and took the kids to see Ice Age 4.  Landon and Kadence were excited to play together and had a good time.

Girl Time.

We have been having some serious girl time around here this week with Landon at school.  The girls seemed a little lost at first but have adjusted quite well already.  It amazes me how much the dynamics change when you remove one child from the three.  The house is so much quieter and since the girls both take naps still I usually get some one on one time with each of them.  By the afternoon Kadence is ready for her big brother to get home so she has someone to play (and fight) with.  I am enjoying the girl time and it seems easier to get things done while entertaining only 2 children.  

 Such fun-loving sweet little ladies.  Most of the time.

Skowlund's Visit.

The Skowlund's came to visit us and celebrate the last weekend of summer before school started up.  We had a great weekend and the kids had a blast playing together.  We ventured out to take some pictures and the kids were pretty good considering it was blasted hot and let's face it, taking pictures is boring when you are 1, 4, and 5.  

 Getting one child to look at the camera is a serious challenge, 5 under five years old is near impossible.

 What a fun time catching shots of all these little cuties!  We were done in about 20 minutes and off to the park we went.  The kids enjoyed the park a TON more!

Great weekend.  Great company.  Great times.
