Sunday Spa Day.

We had a pretty relaxing day at home after the busy birthday celebration.  When Kenzie asked if she could put lotion on my feet I was very excited!  How cute is she?!

Then  this one decided she wanted a turn!  Her massages are wonderful!  She could have a massage career in her future :) I just love relaxing low key days with Ryan and the kids!
Later on the girls decided to put on their spring dresses and pretend like it was actually spring.  They had fun dancing around the house to Frozen in their dresses and longing for warm enough weather to actually wear them outside.
It's hard to tell in this picture but Emma is also longing for Spring.  She found the only ray of sunshine shining through the window by the front door and took a nap.  How cute is she?!

Kadence is 6.

Kadence is 6!  Happy Birthday pretty girl!  We love you and are so proud of you!
We started out the day with some scrumptious Sandy's donuts!
Since her actual birthday fell on Saturday Kadence got to open her presents from us right away in the morning.  She was so excited and happy!
After a loooooong few hours Kadence put her new leotard from Aunty on and we headed to American Gold for her gymnastics party.  She was so excited!! She had a Monster High theme and wanted her hair pink, so we did that before we left.

Setting up the party room and waiting for friends!

Ready to party!!

The kids had an hour in the gym to play and do things with the teacher.  Kadence was excited as she got to pick everything they did.  It was a really fun party and I would have one there again!  The kids all had a blast practicing their gymnastics!

After playing it was time for presents and cupcakes!
I think Kadence had a fun party even without a couple of her friends who were out of town for the long weekend!
Since the party was only an hour and a half long we took Kendallynn and Kendra back to our house for supper and to play for the evening.  All 4 girls had a blast together and Landon had fun, too! This owl was Kadence's favorite birthday present because Kendallynn had a matching one!

We ended the night with Cherry Berry before dropping the girls off!
Kadence had to try out her new read along book with a CD that she got from Grandpa Ken and Grandma Debbie.  Goes right along with the movie she got, too!  Happy Birthday Princess!

Growing up.

Kadence Jean.  My sweet little angel baby.  When I think of newborn Kadence I can't help but smile.  She was the best baby ever.  She ate well, was snuggleable and adorable.  She has grown up so much in the last year.  It makes me sad but at the same time I could not be prouder of her.  She is spunky and great at pushing my buttons but sweet and loving all at the same time.  What a combination.

Kadence was excited to receive her first birthday card in the mail from Great Grandma June.  She sent her a card and a 10 dollar bill.  Kadence was so excited!  She immediately went in the kitchen and started coloring.  I didn't know what she was doing until she proudly came up to me and asked, "Mama, can you send this to Grandma June for me?"
How sweet is that?  I love the picture of her and Grandma June (with short curly hair-how appropriate).  I was surprised and so proud.  She definitely makes the best pictures!!

Conferences.

Crazy to think Landon and Kadence have been in school for over 6 months now.  I can not believe how much each of them has grown in such a short time and how much they have learned.  I love being home every day to hear about their school day and help them with their homework.  Both of the kids had conferences and had excellent reports!

Kadence-Kindergarten
Kadence had a great report from Mrs. Spanier.  She is very well behaved and meeting all expectations.  She is reading at an early first grade level already!  Way to go KK!  She has matured so much in the past 6 months and has learned to control her emotions very well.  I am so proud of her and how far she has come!
As I was waiting for Mrs. Spanier to finish up with the conference I was looking through some of the books she had set out that the kids had made.  When I came across the above page I had to snap a picture of it.  What a sweetie pie!

Landon-1st Grade
Landon also had an excellent report from Mrs. Buerkley.  She said he is the most hard working well behaved student she has.  He is doing exceptionally well in Math and she said it comes very easy for him.  He is also doing very well in his writing and has improved a ton since the beginning of the year.  He is just average with his reading and so she and we will continue to work with him.  I am so proud of Landon and how good of a boy he is!  Keep up the hard work buddy!

Jump Rope 4 Heart.

Kadence participated in Jump Rope 4 Heart through her school.  It is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.  Landon participated in it last year as well.  Kadence was excited to raise money to help kids who didn't have a healthy heart like her.  They practiced jump rope stations in gym classes for a couple weeks and Ryan, Kenzie and I were able to go watch her on the event day.  She was so proud and excited to have us there.  It was so fun to watch her in her realm and how she interacts with her friends.

Kadence's good friend Briley was in her group and they were having a blast!

Great job Kadence!  She raised $350.00 for the fundraiser, what an accomplishment!  Thank you to all our family and friends for supporting Kadence and the American Heart Association!

St. Patty's Sweetie.

If someone would have told me the day Landon was born how good of a boy he would be at just 7 years old, I wouldn't have believed them.  I can not believe what a mature, kind boy Landon is.  He is thoughtful and genuine.  He melts my heart most days and just when I don't think he can possibly get any sweeter he does something like this...

Landon had got a St. Patty's day ring and bracelet at school on St. Patricks Day from one of his classmates.  On the walk home from the bus stop Kadence had told him about how some of her friends had found treats under their pillows from the leprechaun.  I didn't know this when the kids came in the house and Landon quickly took his stuff off and disappeared.  When he came back to the living room he told Kadence she better look under her pillow because the leprechaun probably put something under it while she was at school.  I had a feeling of panic until she came out with the biggest smile on her face and a ring and a bracelet.  At the same time Kenzie walked out of her room from her nap, Landon then had a look of panic on his face as he quickly said to Kadence, " I bet the leprechaun meant to put one of those under Kenzie's pillow, can you share?"  Much to my surprise Kadence handed one over to her little sister and all 3 of them had big smiles on their faces.  I may or may not have teared up.

Swimming and Playdates.

We have spent many Sundays swimming at the Family Wellness center pool this winter.  The kids love it and it's a great afternoon/evening family activity.
We let Kadence and Landon each bring a friend this time for something fun.  Kadence brought her good school friend Briley and Landon brought his good school friend Nathaniel.  The boys didn't get their picture taken because they were too busy.
Since Kadence's friend Briley will not be able to go to her birthday party we decided to make it a celebration and take them to BWW for supper and Cherry Berry for ice cream!  I can't believe how much Briley resembles Hayley O'Connor!
