Snow?!

The fourth day of October and we woke up to snow on the ground!  It was covering most of our grass and thankfully we had bought Landon a winter coat the night before!  He picked out a pretty cool mohawk hat to go with his coat so he was pretty excited to wear it.  It honestly doesn't matter when you get the first snow, it could be August and in the eyes of a child it is nothing but pure excitement!  He took his boots to school in his back pack and was off for a great first snow day!  Now, I was not nearly as excited about the early snow but was quite confident it would be short lived.  So, I just tried to enjoy it through the eyes of a child and in the warmth of my home!

The snow was gone by the time Landon came home from school and the girls were quite disappointed they didn't get to play outside in the snow.  I tried to reassure them that we would have plenty of opportunity in the months to come!
This was the next day!  No snow in sight and the kids had a blast playing outside!
 My sweet little lady.
Pig tails! Love her!

29+1.

Yikes. I don't feel old.  In fact I feel about 22.  I don't think I feel any older than 22.  Now, the fact that I have 3 children and spend most my weekend nights at home with my little family might theoretically make me older than 22.  But, I still don't feel this old.  When I was young 30 sounded old.  And I don't just mean old, I mean like ancient old.  Like mom old.  I guess even though I don't feel "mom old," it is what it is and I am nothing but blessed.  I have 3 beautiful, healthy, and happy children.  They love me unconditionally and give my life more joy than I had ever imagined.  In addition to that, I have a great husband.  I love Ryan so much and he is truly my other half.  We accompany each other so well that I know that we are truly meant for one other.  I always had a life plan to graduate from college in 4 years, then get married and have 2 children by the time I was 30.  I guess I have exceeded my life plan and I am happier than ever.
Ryan and the kids made me this delicious cake.  I love cake.  They made a white cake with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles.  The best way to top off my birthday day!  We had a family dinner (I won't mention that we left the house at 4:30) then went to the mall and looked at the puppies and came home for cake and ice cream.  Nothing big-just the way I like it.  I did threaten Ryan (this threat may or may not have withheld intimate relations) if he did any surprise or allowed anyone else to.  I am not a surprise person.  I hate being the center of attention.  So, I'm hoping I am still safe-I best be if Ryan knows whats good for him!  Ha Ha...
I had to include a picture of the beautiful fall bouquet my neighbor Shannon brought over.  I just thought it was so sweet of her to think of me, especially since she has a 5 day old baby at home and a 17 month old.  What a great day brightener.

It was great to hear from so many people through text, Facebook, and phone calls.  I feel beyond blessed.  Grandma Sue is coming to town this weekend and Ryan and I get to celebrate with a little adult time!  So exciting!

I did watch the Friends episode "The One Where They All Turn 30" which I could actually truly empathize with for the first time!  So...I think I'll just keep calling it 29+1 for a little while longer!

Just another day.

I have had a lot more time with the girls since Landon has been in school and boy do they keep me busy.  They play well together and fight well together.  I just had to share the above picture of Kenzie and her shoes.  She absolutely loves the play princess heels and will wear them around for hours.
My blog has not been working for the past several days and it has been driving me bonkers!  I forgot how much I rely on it to not only share our life with those we love but for a place for me to document things that I don't want to forget.  I know there have been things over the past week that I have not blogged and already forgotten.  So, I'm hoping Blogger has fixed whatever glitches they had so I can continue to share my stories with all of you and keep them in my aging mind that seems to be forgetful lately!
I had to video the girls one day as they were having a blast playing and I was cracking up watching them.
This one is from today.  Kadence has been reading books like this for a good 2+ years and it appears that she is teaching her little sister how to do it as well.  This made my day!

Another work weekend...

Ryan was lucky enough to work another weekend of call where he worked a TON!  I was bummed that he missed the Vikings game and it was actually a good one!  It is safe to say I now have 2 Vikings fans in the house.  Landon looks forward to watching the games with dad and they talk about it all the time!  He even convinced me to buy him a Vikings hat when we were at the mall the other day.  He was so proud and could not wait to show Ryan.

I was fortunate enough to have my mom and dad come back and keep me company for the weekend.  They arrived late Friday and left Sunday afternoon.  They were here when Ryan was not and we had a busy but fun couple days.  They were able to watch another flag football game of Landon's which he thought was pretty neat.  It was a bit chilly but fun to watch.  Landon played even better than the first game that they had watched.  Saturday we hung out and ordered some Pizza Ranch for a little pre-birthday celebration for me.  Sunday morning mom and I headed to church and took the kids to Sunday School.  Then the girls came home to nap while grandpa and Landon watched the football game and Mom and I did a little shopping.  It was hard to see them go after such a short time and even though they had been here just 2 weeks before.  I was so glad to have them come again!

I am so envious of those with grandparents close.  I think 4 hours is still too far, especially with 3 little people.

Ouch.

This little guy had a rough go on the playground.  I received a call from Landon's school saying he had bumped his head on the playground.  They said he was fine and they just wanted me to know.  About an hour later the nurse called me back and said Landon was back in the office.  I talked to him on the phone and in his sad little voice he said he wanted to come home.  The girls were both sound asleep (at an unusually early time) and luckily I have the sweetest neighbor who came over (despite being 9+ months pregnant) so that I could run and get Landon without waking up the girls.  When I got to the office I was shocked to see just how large his bump was.  He had an ice pack on it and was glad to see me.  He asked if he could go back to school the next day and I honestly think he could have gone back to class and been just fine.  But, I gladly took him home where he rested on the couch and I could watch him closely.
Me:  Landon, what happened buddy?
Landon:  I was running so fast away from those girls who were trying to kiss me and ran into a giant pole.
Does it really start that young?  Oh dear!  When he was asked if he would have rather been caught and kissed by the girls he quickly responded with, "no way!"  So, I just told him he should probably watch where he is going when he runs away from those girls!  Such a cutie.  I'm glad he was okay!

Quiet.

We had a quiet weekend at home with our little family.  It was nice that we really had nothing to do and was even nicer to have Ryan at home without his pager!  It was West Fest (a West Fargo Homecoming celebration) so Landon didn't have a flag football game and we were able to make it to the parade.
We all had a great time watching the parade even though it lasted 2 hours.  Yes, 2 hours.  The kids had a blast fetching candy which we will be redistributing for Halloween! Ha! Might want to skip our house if you live in the neighborhood! :)
It worked out well since Landon didn't have a football game we were all able to watch Jack play.  It was a gorgeous morning and fun to watch him play.  The kids of course had a blast running around.
It is nice to have some weekends at home with nothing to do.  Especially beautiful fall days!

Grandma and Grandpa.

My mom and dad came and visited for the weekend!  The kids were excited and I was beyond grateful to have some company while Ryan was on call for the weekend.  We had a pretty relaxing weekend just attending the kids activities and hanging out.  My dad did some things around the house for us which was very helpful.
I just love these pictures of Kenzie helping grandpa!  She was pretty funny!  Right on top of his business talking to him like she was telling him what to do.  So precious.
The kids enjoyed playing with grandma and Sofie, too of course!  She has grown so much!  She's a good puppy and the kids just love her.
Emma on the other hand....not so much.  She always hides under the middle of the table when she feels threatened.  I am not quite sure how the pillow got under there, but I thought this picture was hilarious and adorable.  She's a little furry these days...she looks a tad neglected.

Another fabulous weekend!  I love fall.
