Good Times!

The kids and I had the opportunity to go to Falls Park earlier this week.  It is such a fun place to go, they both walked so much and had a great time!  I love time with my kids so much!  We stopped for a snack break and I had to catch a pic of them sitting so close and not fighting:)  They are just growing up too fast!
Friday night Ryan's mom and dad decided to come to town and we had a great visit!  Kadence was sleeping when they got here Friday night, but Landon was awake and sure was excited to see "Dramma and Drampa" at his house!  We all went out for breakfast this morning and Landon was excited for his "rainbow pancakes."  Then we went to Falls Park and the weather was perfect and the water sure was rushing!  I forgot my camera of course, but the kids had fun like usual.  Grandma and Papa got the kids a new sandbox and they both think it is pretty neat.  I think it is the closest they have played together for the longest amount of time!  They went back and fourth between the sandbox and the pool.  I think we will have A LOT of sand in our house now, but it will be so fun for them.  We are all so spoiled and very lucky to have such great parents.  Our kids are so lucky to have 2 sets of the most amazing granparents around!

Oh, did I mention Kadence likes to eat the sand.  Well, probably cleaner than the dirt out of our front yard!  Needless to say, the kids were exhausted and went to bed really well today.  Ryan is off studying, and I am putting off a run...ugh!  Until next time...

Summer is awesome!

Mom and Dad came and stayed with us over the weekend, it's always so hard to see them leave.  We had such a good time hanging out!  We had a great fire outside on our patio in our new fireplace!  There was a Starbucks for me every morning thanks to my great Dad!  Mom and I had some great alone time shopping (no kids even!), and Ryan and I even got out for a movie!  The kids sure love waking Grandma and Grandpa up in the morning and love having them all to themselves!  Mom and Dad bought the kids these chairs (and the jammies too actually) and they liked them so much that they thought they needed to play with them inside today!  It started out pouring rain and stormy this morning and turned into a beautiful sunny hot day!
We of course took advantage of the weather and took the kids to one of the Sioux Falls pools.  It was one we hadn't been to yet and definitely my favorite.  There was a big spray area and also a kiddie pool that the kids (and Ryan and I) had a blast in.  The best part about the pool though was definitely the lazy river.  We went around and around and around!  I think Landon would have stayed in there all day if we would have let him (and me too).
There is just something too precious for words about this pic of my baby girl!
It's sounds crazy and some of you may not believe it, but the kids have so much fun together when no one else is around, I hope they become good friends one day.
Well, yet another fun summer day come and gone.  I wish every day was like this!

My baby girl is growing up so fast!

Today I had a major realization...my baby girl is not such a baby anymore...but will always be my baby girl:)  The following is a list of words she has learned to say in the past 3 days:
aunee (aunty)
shoe
foot
hair
nighty
ball
choo
pen
milk
The following are words she has been saying for awhile but continues to say more and more:
mommy
daddy
landy (landon)
emma
elmo
hi
bye
My last realization happened before bed time.  I was reading books with Kadence (our routine) and one of the books we read is an Elmo book about bubbles.  There is a page where it says "bubbles bubbles float on top, bubbles bubbles POP POP POP!"  When I was just about to say POP POP POP, she beat me too it and said POP POP POP all on her own!  I couldn't believe it.  She also can point to numerous body parts when we say the names.  It is so exciting and I love to watch her little mind develop.  I guess I just forgot how fast it happens!  We love her so much!

Summer summer summer SUMMERTIME!

We had a great weekend at Ryan's parents house!  We couldn't have asked for better weather!  It was good to spend some time at Ryan's "home" with Grandma Sue, Papa Gary, GG, Holly, Jack, and the Hurds.  The kids had a BLAST and spent A LOT of time outside.  Landon of course was Grandma and Papa's helper all weekend long!  Although, we didn't catch any pics of him and Papa (I don't know how since they spent ALOT of time together).  I also have to mention that Landon experienced farm peeing and pooping, that was an interesting experience if you can imagine.  Landon helped Papa and Jack bottle feed the calf in the barn and although he was scared of it still asked to see "more baby tow."  Today we went out into the pasture and fed the cows "cake."  Landon had a great time (and not going to lie, so did I!) and actually had a cow lick his cheek!  He was pretty scared at first but didn't stop talking about it the rest of the day.  The picture below is GG, Grandma Sue and Landon doing some watering.  Sue has a beautiful yard with such gorgeous plants and landscaping, what a talent!
We spent the day at the lake on Saturday and couldn't have asked for better weather.  It was gorgeous and everyone had such a good time!  The picture below shows the first thing Landon found at the lake Kellen's tractor!  He loved it so much but he was not a good driver at all and honestly those things go FASTER than I thought they would:)
After Landon saw Jack and Aunty Holly cruising around in the Kayak, he insisted on riding, too and was yelling AUNTY HOLLY as loud as he could so she would come and get him!   As you can see, I don't think he was probably much help in the paddling department.
Kadence decided that she was going to make her mom happy and leave her hat on all day!  She wasn't so sure about the sand on her feet and kept lifting her legs up.  I think this is her new face as she was making it in almost every picture!
She did warm up to the sand and decided to sit half in the water and play!  She stayed there for a long time, I was surprised since the water was pretty chilly.
As soon as Landon spotted the boat, he kept saying "drive, drive."  It was funny because I don't think he has ever really been on a boat, I guess it just ties in with his love for cars (not traveling in them mind you).  He thought it was pretty neat and wanted to go FASTER of course:)  He had a fun time watching daddy and Jonathon wakeboard and surprisingly didn't get too upset when his daddy wiped out.
Landon sat right next to Jack on the boat and they were leaning over watching the guys.  Needless to say his mommy was sitting behind them holding onto the strap of his life jacket!
My timid little Kadee wasn't so sure about the boat ride.  She liked it at first, but not so much when it started to get pretty windy.  She hung pretty close to Aunty Holly.
Landon spent a lot of time riding the four-wheeler with Papa and Grandma.  Today, daddy took both of them for a ride.  Kadence was waving (like she was in a parade) as they were leaving and it was adorable.  She didn't so much like the ride after they got going though, perhaps another wind in her face issue.
And below is what happens after a fun-filled weekend with much loved family and friends!
Kadence was cashed for awhile on the way home until we had yet another great experience with potty training-pulling over on the side of the road so Landon could pee!  It wouldn't have been so bad, but after we stopped to eat Landon said he had to potty so we pulled over again, then he didn't really have to go.  The little turkey was just tired of riding in his car seat.  Oh the fun of potty-training, but I am not complaining he is doing SO well!

Yet another great summer weekend!  If only they lasted forever!  Being home always feels good though, the kids went to sleep good as they were exhausted and Ryan has been studying hard since we got home...back to reality I guess!

Weekends go by too fast!

We had a pretty relaxing weekend at home!  I worked Friday night so the kids got some needed Daddy time Saturday morning for a couple hours while I slept!  We then had a little birthday party at the neighbors for their little girl.  We even had a campfire after the kids went to bed, it sure is nice to have some grown up time without paying a sitter!  The weather was horrible this weekend and is supposed to continue until Thursday!  Hopefully, the weather man is wrong like usual and it will warm up before then!  Today we decided to take the kiddos bowling!  We haven't been bowling since we moved here and missed one of Ryan and my favorite activities!  We were a little rusty and bowled about the same as Landon and I will be honest with you, there were times I used the bumpers more than he did!!

He's a pretty tough guy lugging his 6lb ball around all by himself!  He really did not want any help and only dropped it twice, luckily not on his toe or on his sister!!  (Aren't those the cutest bowling shoes EVER!!  Why is everything always cuter when it's smaller?
Kadence spent her time walking around and also scooting on her belly.  I think she thought it was fun because it was slippery...needless to say they both had baths when we got home!
Kadence was such a good little cheerleader, she clapped A LOT!

These are just a few shots from the Sioux Falls zoo last week.  Landon insisted on riding the carousel and Ryan and I thought for sure he would bail right away, but he surprised us (once again) and LOVED it!  Kadence enjoyed the animals like always and pointed to them the whole trip!

Well another weekend gone!  They sure go fast!

Kids are great!

There is just never a dull moment in our house!  On the days I think I am going to go crazy, the kids turn it around by just acting goofy!  Apparently in our home, Landon's new underwear get much more use on his and his sisters heads than him wearing them!  Kadence doesn't look that thrilled in the below pictures, but had you seen the two of them racing around the house just minutes prior, you would have seen how much fun they were having!
I just can't believe how much enjoyment and love these two little people have brought into our lives!  They are the best and we love them so much!!
